PROPOSAL FOR SUFI UNIVERSITY: BY ZULFIQAR ALI CHANDIO

SUBJECT: PROPOSAL FOR SUFI UNIVERSITY.
Your Excellency,
It’s a matter of great delight for me and Sindh, that by announcing the establishment of the first Sufi University you have given a message to the World that Sindhi people can play a leading role for the Peace, Development and Equality.
I congratulate your highness.
I considered it my duty to submit my proposal, to my knowledge, in this regard. However I am the student of BSIT at University of Sindh, but I have studied the Sufis of the world enough. And Sufi University in Sindh was my dream since years.
In working on this project  Mr. Ghulam Rasool Chandio, who is a Sufi Scholar and a Media man himself, has guided me through and I am thankful to him as well.

INTERNATIONAL SUFI UNIVERSITY OF SINDH
The idea of launching a Sufi university is remarkable especially in modern times which are affected by religious extremism severely. The religious extremists who, adhering to the fundamental notions, do not decipher the real meaning  of religion and the role it plays in the evolution of civilization. We all are the cognizant of the consequences of terrorism in the name of religion, the people from children to aged ones are being killed, institutions are being destroyed and apart from all that our economy is at loss, Suicidal bomb blast is term which we all hear almost everyday on newspapers and TV channels, the world seems to be standing on the pile of explosives, every soul is suffering fear in their heart.
The government is fighting against terrorism, with use of weapons, nevertheless and a great deal of improvement can be seen but using weapons in eradication of terrorism and terrorists seems insufficient, for it cannot change the minds of their successors, instead it would possibly might make them rebellious.
We may also fight terrorism institutionally. Institutions influence the culture and behavior of any society and establishing a Sufi University is a first step in this regard and is laudable. It can be considered a revolutionizing task towards the achievement of social change and would play its part as a counter to the religious fundamentalism and extremism.
Sindh is place where the concept of equality, respect of humanity, idea of human development and all other human values are distinct among all the other regions of the world and has a leading potential. So far, there no single person who is caught in the terrorist activity in the war against terrorism that has been since years. The Sindhi people because of their Sufi temperament are a major counter against terrorism.
The honorable President accredited who has announced to establish the first international Sufi University, which shows how much he is anxious about the peace of the world. 
I am very delighted for this extraordinary plan but desperate on the other hand because Sufism/Mysticism is always seemed to be misunderstood among many scholars. It seems that people don’t fathom the difference between Islam and Sufism however the life and message of Sufis are open evidences that these two are different philosophies.  Sufism is the real essence of all the religions regardless of their practices. I am afraid that the difference between Islamic University and Sufi University would not be made. To make sure it would not be done I am proposing a complete plan of how the University should be. I worked all this under the guidance of my beloved father Ghulam Rasool Chandio, who has a good deal of insight into the philosophy of Shah Latif and Sufism.
I have some suggestion regarding the name of the University that I have mentioned below:
1)    INTERNATIONAL SUFI UNIVERSITY OF SINDH AT BHIT SHAH
2)    THE UNIVERSITY OF SUFISM
3)    SUFI UNIVERSITY OF SINDH

PS: I CAN WORK MORE ON THIS PROPOSAL, THIS IS MERE A BASIC ACADEMIC PLAN.
